It is particularly interesting to explore an artists work through his sketchbook, for its pages include drawings and sketches of the ideas and themes that go on to give birth to his subsequent works. The sketchbook illustrations themselves are valuable for the immediacy and spontaneity of their lines and colors. FCE and the Arvil Gallery have made available this body of work by Vlady through a facsimile edition of one of the artists sketchbooks, complemented by a bilingual text by Luis Carlos Emerich on Vladys work.
