This novel is the second in a trilogy by Romero, one of the youngest members of the nadaista movement. It narrates the story of a rambling writer who ends up in Mérida, Venezuela, a college town. One of the achievements of Romeros novel is the humorous depiction of university life, a topic rarely explored in Latin American fiction –Handbook of Latin American Studies, v. 58.
